Winter Sports Update 2/18/21

Here is the latest  in Winter Sports:

Hockey: Despite a small roster, the team has been extremely competitive. They are 1-3 overall with the win coming against East Kentwood (4-1) and the losses to GR Northview 3-1, DeWitt 4-2, and 2-1 to the Kalamazoo Eagles. This is is a solid improvement over last season. The team will return to action on Friday at Lakeshore/St. Joe.

Skiing: The season is complete. The Women's Team finished 11th and the Men's Team finished 12th overall at the MHSAA Regional. on 2/10.. It was a quick season but everyone seemed to enjoy it. 

Men's Swimming and Diving: The team is 1-1 overall after splitting their meets with the Portages. The next meet is tonight against Mattawan.

Women's Basketball: The Varsity team sits at 0-2 overall after a 53-40 loss last night at Battle Creek Central. The JV and V will host Gull Lake on Friday and Portage Central on Saturday. 

Men's Basketball: The Varsity Team is 0-2 and the JV team is 1-1. The teams head to Gull Lake tonight, the Varsity will host Phoenix tomorrow, and both teams will host Battle Creek Central on Saturday. 

Competitive Cheer: The Squad hits the mat for the first time this season when they travel to Stevensville Lakeshore for a SMAC Quad tomorrow. 

Bowling: The Men's Team (1-1) and the Women's Team (2-0) will host Battle Creek Central on Saturday at Revel N Roll. 

Wrestling: The team had a good showing at the Otsego Invitational last weekend but ran into a wall against the Portages last night. They will get back at it on Wednesday when they host a Quad with BC Lakeview and Gull Lake.
