Spring Sports Mandatory Antigen Testing

Updated on 06/09/2022

Spring Sports Testing Update:

Dear Parents and Guardians:

As we begin the Spring Sports Seasons next week, we learned through the latest MDHHS guidance that we must test all athletes at least once per week starting April 5.

To begin the season, we will antigen test every Spring athlete prior to the beginning of the first practice.

Open testing will be available at both High Schools from 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. on Monday, April 5. This will be the screening time for the week. You must be tested in order to participate.

Athletes are able to come as available during the school day. We would like to avoid a line at 3:30, so if you can come earlier, please do so.

It is set up as a drive up test site. At Loy Norrix, students will enter by the auditorium door. At KC, students will enter the auxiliary gym lobby.

Students will test and may leave, they do not have to wait the 15 minutes. They will be notified if they test positive.

In order to be tested students must have parent consent and sign the code of conduct.

Code of Conduct: https://www.mhsaa.com/portals/0/Documents/health%20safety/safer%20conduct.pdf

Consent Form:

https://www.mhsaa.com/portals/0/Documents/health%20safety/consent%20antigen.pdf

Both forms must be submitted on the first day of testing.

In the following weeks, each team is assigned a testing time.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate through these latest mandates to help your athlete have a successful season.
