Kalamazoo Loy Norrix Knights JV fell 5-3 to St. Joseph on Friday despite out-hitting them nine to seven.
St. Joseph opened up scoring in the first inning. Z Polk singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
St. Joseph pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third Polk singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run, J McQueen drew a walk, scoring one run, and M Morris doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.
Morris earned the win for St. Joseph. He allowed nine hits and three runs over four innings, striking out six and walking zero.
Grant Miller took the loss for Kalamazoo Loy Norrix Knights JV. He allowed six hits and five runs over three innings, striking out six.
